ADVANCED DENTAL TECHNOLOGY
Our office is dedicated to providing you and your family with high-quality dental care that meets your oral health needs. As part of our commitment to your oral health and well-being, we use the latest dental technologies in our practice. Dental technology includes tools, equipment, treatment techniques and materials.
Our practice offers:
- 3D intraoral scanners that help us avoid messy impression materials, which can get on clothing or cause gagging
- Dental lasers, which helps us perform gum therapies and painless numbing-free treatment of small cavities
- Digital x-rays that offer minimal radiation exposure, 90% less radiation than film x-rays and MUCH safer than medical x-rays!
- Panoramic x-rays which help us screen for conditions of the jaw and skull
By making use of advanced dental technology in our office, our dentist and team can:
- Better understand your oral health and dental needs.
- Make faster and more accurate diagnoses of dental problems.
- Plan more precise and effective treatments.
- Enhance your comfort.
- Provide you with faster treatment.
- Reduce the time needed for healing after your treatment.
- Provide better long-term results for your smile and oral health
Our goal is to make your experience with us as efficient and comfortable as possible. Each type of technology used in our office has its own benefits, from the detailed images captured by X-rays to the improved results that come from using the latest treatment materials and techniques. We encourage you to contact our office and speak with a member of our team if you have any questions about our cutting-edge technologies. FAQs:
Do dental x-rays cause harmful radiation?
Per ADA guidelines, we limit the x-rays we take based on our determination of the patient’s need. Dental x-rays provide very minimal radiation, especially compared to medical x-rays.
For most patients, we recommend taking dental x-rays at least once per year, to make sure we are not ignoring dental disease that may be missed — causing more harm than the minimal amount of radiation from the x-ray itself!
The amount of radiation from a full series of 18 dental x-rays gives us a similar amount of radiation as a few hours in the sun, or an hour on an airplane.

Why do I need dental x-rays?
Dental disease hides within the teeth and the bone around the teeth, and is not visible to the eye alone. We use x-rays to monitor for decay starting between our teeth and for bone recession and possible infection. Usually our dentists cannot do a full dental exam without x-rays, and we keep the number of x-rays taken to the minimum required to monitor dental health.
